The Faculty of Cultural Studies has been an independent academic unit since 2019, yet its traditions reach back to the period when the University of Warsaw operated its branch in Białystok. The establishment of the Faculty was made possible through the collaboration of scholars from two former faculties: the Faculty of Humanities (now the Faculty of Philology) and the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology (currently the Faculty of Education).
The Faculty of Cultural Studies is structured around three departments: the Department of Cultural Anthropology, the Department of Cultural and Media Studies, and the Department of Contemporary Culture and Film.
The Faculty offers a degree program in Cultural Studies at both BA and MA levels (full-time studies). The available specializations provide students with professional knowledge and practical skills, including designing effective advertising campaigns, developing photographic and film production techniques, creating content for digital media, exploring regional cultural heritage, and understanding the mechanisms of the art market.
