On 17 March 2026, the University Centre for Culture and Science hosted the latest edition of Cultural Studies Day. The auditorium was filled with secondary school students interested in contemporary culture and the ways in which it is studied and interpreted.
Participants had the opportunity to attend a series of lectures prepared by staff from the Faculty of Cultural Studies. The presentations – although they represented only a fraction of the broad spectrum of topics we cover – demonstrated just how diverse, relevant and significant the field of cultural studies is. It was a space not only for presenting knowledge, but also for dialogue: asking questions, reflecting together and exchanging experiences.
Workshops were also a key element of the event, allowing participants to engage with the more practical aspects of cultural studies. Sessions devoted to, among other things, VR technology, storytelling, contemporary practices of recovering and reinterpreting narratives, and handicrafts attracted a great deal of interest. They clearly demonstrated that at Faculty of Cultural Studies we successfully combine theoretical reflection with practical activities.
The day culminated in a cultural studies quiz prepared by the students, which, in an engaging format, allowed participants to test and consolidate the knowledge they had gained. Their commitment and support at every stage of organising the event were invaluable.
We would like to thank everyone for attending and for the time we spent together – the high school students and teachers for coming, the staff for preparing inspiring sessions, and the students for their energy and organisational support.
This year’s edition of Cultural Studies Day is now history, but we are convinced that this event will become a permanent fixture in our Faculty’s calendar as an important space for meeting, exchange and the dissemination of knowledge about culture.
See you at Faculty of Cultural Studies!
