Karolina Wierel, PhD, assistant professor at the Department of Cultural and Media Studies at the University of Bialystok, cultural expert, philologist. She is interested in catastrophic and post-apocalyptic works, the motif of the Book in culture, the relationship between culture, literature and film, the history of orality and literacy, and contemporary currents of thought in the philosophy of culture, especially in the new humanities, ecological humanities, posthumanism, and post-secularism.

- Project coordinator at the Inter-faculty Institute of Cultural Studies and Art "Forge of competences of students of the Faculty of History, Sociology, Philology and the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Bialystok" in 2018.

She has been a member of the following academic teams and associations:
